For the last year my friend Kim Armstrong and I have been trying to find the right time to photograph her little family. Especially Tyler, A sweet, handsome silly little boy. A boy who loves zombies, walking dead and all thing pirates. I knew him as a three year old boy in my preschool class who loved to stare at my feet to fall asleep during nap time, who if you could get one out of him gave the best hugs! This is who Ty is and I am going to leave my definition of him at that! I am sure if you could talk to the several people that have been a part of his life they would have 100 page list of all things TY.
Today I got to be part of his story on earth. I got to photograph him and his amazing family and nurses. While I wasn’t sure what I would be walking into when I arrived at the hospital, I knew there would be an overwhelming feeling of love. On top of that there was laughter, joking, teasing and maybe a few middle fingers directed at me! I don’t think Tyler was too keen on the idea of me sticking a camera in his face for an hour! Here is a just glimpse at some of people that make up TEAM TY-riffic. Thank you for letting me be part of today!

I have not been a part of Tyler’s story until today so I cannot even begin to tell it but am so grateful I got to hangout and laugh with all of them! If you want to know more about Tyler and his family and their story please follow them on their facebook page. Or if you would like to donate please click here!

I have recently decided to start photographing high school seniors. What a great time in a young persons life. To be graduating high school and having so much possibility for the future. It also can be stressful and overwhelming to have all of that weight on your shoulders. I want to spend this time with these young adults taking a break from studying and give them the chance to have fun and feel like a model for the day! Kendall exuded confidence and inner beauty. She made my first session go so smoothly. Which might have been because she had been “studying Americas Next Top Model!” I recommend to all my clients to watch a few episodes of Americas Next Top Model to get you ready ;).

We started off the session just roaming around the quaint streets of old folsom. It made for some really pretty light with all the tree cover. These close ups are my favorite. My sessions come with hair and make up built in to the session fee. Done by the magnificent Lea Beuhler. She always does such great natural hair and makeup that accentuate their natural beauty for the camera.

She would just make these jaw dropping looks! It was so fun capturing!

I love how the light was filtering in here. This was in a little ally in old folsom but it felt like we were somewhere exotic!

Kendall’s vibrant personality made this day so enjoyable. She had such range when it came to her different poses and expressions. I know mom and I both loved when she would smile so big her nose would crinkle like it did when she was a kiddo.

We eventually moved from old folsom to a beautiful grass field by an old barn. The sun was setting which made for some beautiful light.

I always love when my clients bring beautiful signature pieces like her black hat. But this time I had just received this awesome fur vest from The Southern Bend an Instagram boutique. I knew she would be the perfect model for it! She totally rocked that look!

That silly side kept coming out and I was eating it up!!

Right as the sunset we got a few shots on the train tracks looking on point with this cami dress and long sweater!

It was so special photographing Kendall. Her mom has been my dental hygienist since I was a young girl and I have heard about her all growing up. Finally getting to meet her and see how incredibly sweet and genuine she is just like her mom was such a treat!

We are celebrating Miss Amelia’s 6 month birthday this week. Thought we would look back at newborn session and see how tiny she was!

This sweet girl had all the smiles!!! It was just too cute.

Daddy gives the best kisses

Mama’s girl loves falling asleep on her.

All her little features so tiny!

What a beautiful little christmas baby! I had to opportunity to photograph her mommy and daddy’s wedding and now their little beautiful new family! I couldn’t be more happy for them!

Ok I have to admit I have never ran out of gas in my entire life until the morning of Hudson’s portfolio session!! I was literally down the street and my car just puttered out! How professional I thought. First porfolio session of my career and I had to call the mom for a ride! I called, I confessed and she rushed over to me assuring me that this has happened to her before. Thank you for an understanding mama!! Thankfully the actual session didn’t start out as rocky as the intial meeting! Hudson was well, a PRO! To mom’s relief he was a natural and did not complain once!!

This blue outfit really made his eyes pop!

At this point he was really hamming it up and I was loving it!!

We took a trip over to the train. It didn’t have great light but it sure made Hudson light up!

Such the natural poser!

We took a little break to have some juice and play with a slinky that he didn’t quite know how to use so he just swung it around!! He loved it!

At this point is when I realized that Hudson and I were best friends and he got a kick out of it everytime I called him that!! I don’t think he agreed!

Can we say J Crew model!!
This little stud was so many kinds of fun that I cannot wait until next time he needs more portfolio shots!!
