I feel like these girls become my nieces after working with them all year, I care for them so much and want them to succeed! Grace just came to my office to pick up her beautiful senior portraits and her excitement about her portraits filled me up! I was also so proud of her when she told me she got into the school she had been hoping for! She is such a caring person and so encouraging of me and the people around her. She kept telling me how proud of me she was!
Grace really knew what she wanted her for senior portraits and I know we captured that feel during our day together.

I love these pics at a nursery in downtown it was the perfect setting for Miss Grace who loves the clean white elements in her portraits.

This was moms favorite setting with the light coming through the plant!

I just love how playful she could get in these shots!

Captured her vision in this shot on a street in downtown.

Grace that smile and sweet voice is what I will remember for always! You were part of my first rep team and am so grateful for your creativity and openness! You are going to kill it in College!

I met miss Bailey a few years ago while photographing her family for a magazine. I instantly felt connected to this family. Not only were they fun and adventurous but they loved spending time together. Bailey right away struck me as a model. I put her in front of my camera and she knew what to do. When it was time to create my first senior model program I was so thrilled when she applied to join. She was exactly the kind of girl I was looking for. One who valued the art of modeling and photography but also valued being genuine. I have gotten to know Bailey pretty well and am so impressed with the person she is becoming. She cares so deeply about others, fills the room with this contagious energy and sees the value in gaining knowledge from the people she surrounds herself with.
Her senior session was exactly her… sweet, funky and adventurous.

This image above won me my very first award of Top 25 up & coming senior photographers! Thank you Bailey for being such a graceful, thoughtful and poised women!

Can you believe her eyes in this one!! LIKE WOW!!!!!!

It is always interesting to me which images mom decides to choose as their larger prints. This one in the middle was the one they printed big!!! Beautiful!

I’m pretty sure this one on the left belongs in a magazine!

Those eyelashes!

I am so glad Bailey risked getting in the water for these shots! This last one is my favorite. She has got the dancers arch for sure here!

Guys you know that dream you have when you oversleep and completely miss a very important event, meeting, appointment? Well this happened to me with the Walker session. I had one, overslept and two, written the time down wrong! I didn’t completely miss the session but was a half hour late to it. Thankfully it is a family that I have been photographing forever and they have become like family. We also would have never found this gorgeous location with all these amazing flowers. They drove around for a bit while waiting and came across this location.

We then moved onto to the original location and had some fun with apple donuts for the kids and apples for mom and dad!! love these parents faces!!

I love getting to try new ideas out with families that I have been working with for a while and are up for anything! Thank you Walkers for another amazing session!

I photographed my best friend’s beautiful family last week on their property in Auburn. This family means so much to me and I was so honored to photograph this new stage in their life! These two little guys are the world to me. Rachel and I grew up next door to each other so when she was one of first of my friends to have babies I was so jazzed. They call me MiMi just like my nieces and nephews do and it makes my heart melt every time.
This property is a piece of heaven. Are you jealous because I sure am! They are working so hard on developing it into their own. It was so much fun exploring with these little guys as leaders.

I find any excuse to go into downtown Sacramento, it is one of my favorite places to be! So when my reps had the same enthusiasm about the idea of having their spring shootout there I knew I had selected the right girls! The fun thing about shooting in downtown is that you can just drive around and find the location. This first location Grace actually picked out! The texture of the leaves contrasted well with their bright spring colors!

Jessica has the most stunning eyes and sleek straight hair! When she looked at the camera it was breathtaking.

Miss Bailey and her perfectly pouty lips! She is such a naturally at creating the perfect pose.

Grace had such a playful vibe about her one she found the perfect brick wall to go with her jumpsuit!
The girls were so excited about their Good Vibes team shirts I made for them we had to incorporate them in to the session. Another location we just happened upon with more green ivy! Green is my favorite color! Another indicator that these girls were meant to be my reps!

Right next to all the green was this killer old Italian car repair shop that had these great Vespas that they let us use. The owner is so sweet.

With the sun setting on our session we took a moment to get one last see you later shot! Had a great day bonding with these fabulous girls.

I love getting to do destination sessions! Getting out of town and discovering new locations, being in a new environment really gets my creative juices flowing! When TJ said Lake Tahoe I thought for sure he wanted to shoot at the lake! But when he said he wanted to shoot in the dense forest I was super excited! We drove around for a bit and as we were turning around to look some more, I saw it!! It was the perfect location for my vision as well as TJ’s! He knew exactly what he wanted for his senior portraits! He was more of a perfectionist than me and I appreciated it! I love that we captured all the sides of TJ, his charming personality, his sports, his faith and his addiction to Red Bull. I think he might be the next model for them!
You can find TJ hanging out with his friends at youth group, playing one of the many sports he excels at or hiking and taking pictures with his new Go Pro. He also enjoys a nice relaxing siesta on his hammock. More recently TJ has been learning about hard work at his first job, Pieology. TJ is graduating from Folsom High and is excited about the possibility of going away to school and playing lacrosse. As of last week his top choices are Oregon State and Humboldt State! So excited to see what this guys future will be!

For the last year my friend Kim Armstrong and I have been trying to find the right time to photograph her little family. Especially Tyler, A sweet, handsome silly little boy. A boy who loves zombies, walking dead and all thing pirates. I knew him as a three year old boy in my preschool class who loved to stare at my feet to fall asleep during nap time, who if you could get one out of him gave the best hugs! This is who Ty is and I am going to leave my definition of him at that! I am sure if you could talk to the several people that have been a part of his life they would have 100 page list of all things TY.
Today I got to be part of his story on earth. I got to photograph him and his amazing family and nurses. While I wasn’t sure what I would be walking into when I arrived at the hospital, I knew there would be an overwhelming feeling of love. On top of that there was laughter, joking, teasing and maybe a few middle fingers directed at me! I don’t think Tyler was too keen on the idea of me sticking a camera in his face for an hour! Here is a just glimpse at some of people that make up TEAM TY-riffic. Thank you for letting me be part of today!

I have not been a part of Tyler’s story until today so I cannot even begin to tell it but am so grateful I got to hangout and laugh with all of them! If you want to know more about Tyler and his family and their story please follow them on their facebook page. Or if you would like to donate please click here!

I have recently decided to start photographing high school seniors. What a great time in a young persons life. To be graduating high school and having so much possibility for the future. It also can be stressful and overwhelming to have all of that weight on your shoulders. I want to spend this time with these young adults taking a break from studying and give them the chance to have fun and feel like a model for the day! Kendall exuded confidence and inner beauty. She made my first session go so smoothly. Which might have been because she had been “studying Americas Next Top Model!” I recommend to all my clients to watch a few episodes of Americas Next Top Model to get you ready ;).

We started off the session just roaming around the quaint streets of old folsom. It made for some really pretty light with all the tree cover. These close ups are my favorite. My sessions come with hair and make up built in to the session fee. Done by the magnificent Lea Beuhler. She always does such great natural hair and makeup that accentuate their natural beauty for the camera.

She would just make these jaw dropping looks! It was so fun capturing!

I love how the light was filtering in here. This was in a little ally in old folsom but it felt like we were somewhere exotic!

Kendall’s vibrant personality made this day so enjoyable. She had such range when it came to her different poses and expressions. I know mom and I both loved when she would smile so big her nose would crinkle like it did when she was a kiddo.

We eventually moved from old folsom to a beautiful grass field by an old barn. The sun was setting which made for some beautiful light.

I always love when my clients bring beautiful signature pieces like her black hat. But this time I had just received this awesome fur vest from The Southern Bend an Instagram boutique. I knew she would be the perfect model for it! She totally rocked that look!

That silly side kept coming out and I was eating it up!!

Right as the sunset we got a few shots on the train tracks looking on point with this cami dress and long sweater!

It was so special photographing Kendall. Her mom has been my dental hygienist since I was a young girl and I have heard about her all growing up. Finally getting to meet her and see how incredibly sweet and genuine she is just like her mom was such a treat!

We are celebrating Miss Amelia’s 6 month birthday this week. Thought we would look back at newborn session and see how tiny she was!

This sweet girl had all the smiles!!! It was just too cute.

Daddy gives the best kisses

Mama’s girl loves falling asleep on her.

All her little features so tiny!

What a beautiful little christmas baby! I had to opportunity to photograph her mommy and daddy’s wedding and now their little beautiful new family! I couldn’t be more happy for them!
